Dreams of Flight

oh look! a background! (sorta)
i'd be more proud of myself for doing one if it didn't SUCK. XD

new character time! or more, a younger version of a new character. his name is ashley, because while i despise that name on girls, i think it suits for a boy. don't ask me why.
his 'normal self' is closer to around...maybe between 17-19? i'm terrible at picking ages for my own pictures.

anyways, he was made because i really wanted to draw a character with an aviator hat. that's about it. he lives on a wheat farm, and it's also a training zone for the military air force. as such, ashley's taken a fondness to flying, and wants to do so himself one day.
the box he's holding (though it looks like a radio coz i fail) is a remote control airplane. he has a 'half-goggle', as i now dub it. the lens is heavily tinted so that he can look directly into the sun while flying his plane, without going blind. it's only half a lens though, because they're so dark that he'd be unable to see anything otherwise. 8D (he wears it on his forehead most of the time anyway, mind you)

ironically, i'm so cheap that i can't even come up with a different outfit for when he was younger. the only differences are his shirt, different gloves, no belt and pockets on his pants. :I
also, let it be known that i also cannot draw children. at all.
